VODIA the Horse needs a home
Vodia was rescued with a large number of equine. She was severly underweight, nursing a young foal and pregnant when she arrived. Vodia''s first foal has been weaned and she delivered a healthy filly in April 2017. Vodia''s second foal has also been weaned. She is a healthy weight and thriving at Longmeadow.
Vodia has previous training for riding. She has been ridden at a walk, trot and canter in the arena. She is quiet and would rather go slow. She would be appropriate for a beginner rider in the long term but we currently have her in the training program to put some more miles on her first.
Update November 2017 - Vodia is working on trusting her rider not to hand on her face. She doesn''t like needless pressure on her mouth and is learning not to expect heavy hands. With a confident and balanced rider she is doing great and learning to trust. We think a confident beginner rider would be appropriate for her as long as they have a trainer available if needed. She has learned to test people in her previous riding life and will test new people but if you ask her again she doesn''t put up an argument and doesn''t test again. With more time under saddle and rider she will improve. We are just working on some of those learned behaviors from her past.
